Alexius I, Comnenus
April 4, 1081 to August 15, 1118 AD
Alexius was the son of John II Comnenus and Anna Dalassena and the nephew of Isaac I Comnenus(emperor 1057–1059). The military, financial and territorial recovery of the Byzantine Empire known as Komnenian restoration began in his reign.
