Cilicia
Cilicia was located on southeastern coast of Asia Minor, north of Cyprus.
It was conquered by in the 9th century BC, and held by the Persians
until Alexander the Great marched on it in 333 BC which he took
simply with the show of his large force. After Alexander's death his
generals Ptolemy and Seleucus fought to control the area which
became Hellenized. The last of the Cilician region was Romanized by
the 50's BC, and Tarsus became it's capital.
