Kingdom of Nabataea
The Nabataeans occupied Northern Arabia, parts of Palestine, and as far north as Damascus. Primarily caravan traders between Asia and the Mediterranean, the Nabataeans were accustomed to live in the desert, and built extensive irrigation systems. Their capital was Petra, and by 106 AD they became part of the Roman empire.
